PT. MRT Jakarta Obtains Best Planning of The Year Award

PT. MRT Jakarta achieved the Best Planning of The Year (International Category) for Master Plan and Urban Design Guidelines at the 6th Singapore Institute of Planners (SIP) Awards.

This achievement will encourage us to continue giving our best innovations

This award is received by PT. MRT Jakarta Business Development Director, Ghamal Peris and Transit Oriented Development Planning Department Head, Seno Pranata at Presentation Dinner 2019 in Singapore, Thursday (9/12).

PT. MRT Jakarta President Director, William Sabandar conveyed, this achievement was given for Dukuh Atas Transit Oriented Development (TOD) area planning that has been inaugurated by Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan on April 30, 2019.

"Dukuh Atas TOD planning gains the best score for innovation, methodology and design approach, contribution to the environment, social and economy, and its implementation," he explained, Monday (9/16).

He mentioned that SIP Awards is a biennial event with five categories for Best Planning, Best Urban Design, Best Resilience Planning, Best Infrastructure, and Best Student.

"This year, SIP Awards is participated by 58 projects from 11 countries such as United States of America, Vietnam, China, Singapore, Malaysia, Oman, India, Sri Lanka, Australia, Thailand, and Indonesia," he added.

According to him, Dukuh Atas TOD construction will strengthen MRT Jakarta existence as the new innovation for public transport in Jakarta. Because it will give additional benefits such as improving air quality and become a sollution in tackling congestion.

"This achievement will encourage us to continue giving our best innovations," he asserted.
